Welcome to Spoonsful of Sugar, a vibrant agency
run by Sue Lawson   placing
au pairs both in the UK and abroad.

Sue has had au pairs
herself for a number
of years to help with her
two children and to help
around the home and so
understands both the needs
of the family and the au pair.

Spoonsful of Sugar provide a
personal, proactive and above all
friendly service ensuring that au pairs
and families are well matched and both enjoy a positive experience.

It can be extremely rewarding for everyone involved with both parties
benefiting from each others cultural backgrounds and many go on to forge longlasting relationships.

It can also however, be a little bit daunting. If you are a family hosting an au pair for the first time, it can be quite challenging to welcome a new person into your home. If you are an au pair staying with a family for the first time, it can often be unsettling until you find your feet and if you are a family whose current au pair is returning home, the thought of starting all over again with a new au pair can be less than appealing.

However, at Spoonsful of Sugar, we aim to take away all of the stress
and provide you with a professional and well considered service.
We are always here to provide on-going help and advice when needed and we positively welcome your feedback.

Today!

It's Thursday and countdown to the weekend has begun!

A little bit of panic mixed in with excitement always starts to creep in for me when Thursday comes around. I think about all the things I still need to do before the weekend, but then I think about how nice it will be to wind down on Friday evening.

In Roman mythology, this day is associated with Jupiter who was the king of gods and who ruled directly over thunder and lightening. The Norse god of thunder is Thor and the day in turn became Thursday. It is recognised as a day of power and expansion.

I think Thursday is a really positive day when people tend to be more upbeat and open. It is certainly a day when I achieve the most and feel the most proactive.
